The Conscript
Hunted by The Sons of the Switch“Held the Station 9 gate one season too long, and the Sons made sure he held nothing after.”

He came to Station 9 a body for the wall and made himself something the Provisional could not spare. For two seasons the gate held because Sered held it, and the registration line moved a little faster for his being there. The Sons do not forgive a man who keeps their people out. They took him on the depot road, in the open, where the dosimeters tick. Pike went down covering him and Sered did not last the hour after. The Provisional struck his name from the duty roster and posted another. That is how the wall remembers.
